  18. Debbie Gibson in Broadway's baroque peasant musical Les
  19. Miserables? But Gibson, who will play the waif Eponine as of
  20. Jan. 7, prefers to call it fate. She auditioned for the role six
  21. years ago, was deemed too young, then handled the rejection by
  22. becoming a teenage millionaire. Still, she never forgot Les Miz.
  23. "It's been my favorite show for years," says Gibson. "I've been
  24. hoping to do it all along." What next, Tiffany in Miss Saigon?
